After three Disney trips, we finally booked a character meal! We had breakfast one morning at the Crystal Palace, located at the Magic Kingdom. It was a fabulous experience, so fun for the kids and adults, and the food was amazing. I’d like to share some tips with you, and a review, of the Crystal Palace.
*Character meals at Disney require ADRs, or Advanced Dining Reservations. You can make these up to 180 days in advance of your trip. However, I made ours about two months before. I was VERY flexible in that I wanted a character dining experience, so I took what was available.
*Character meals are typically buffets. At the Crystal Palace, we had an 8:40 a.m. reservation. The buffet was chock full of yummy breakfast foods. The selection included bacon and eggs, Mickey waffles, pancakes, pastries, fruit and yogurt bar, and cold cereal. They take your drink orders at your table, and refill them accordingly. There is also an area for children to serve themselves at the buffet, but they aren’t limited to only those foods. They can eat from anywhere on the buffet. Even adults can help themselves to the children’s selections-I had a few too many Poohs Puffed French Toast…but it was AWESOME!
*At the Crystal Palace, you’ll find Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, & Piglet. These characters make their way to each table, to visit with your family and sign autographs, and take pictures. The whole experience takes about an hour. We chose this restaurant because of the characters. Our daughter, who is three, still enjoys characters. The twins, who are nine, not so much anymore. So, we figured the boys could enjoy a fun meal, instead of waiting in a line to see Pooh and his friends.
*Every thirty minutes or so, Pooh and his friends lead the children around the restaurant in a parade. It’s super cute!
*The decor and atmosphere of the Crystal Palace is extremely friendly and cheerful. Although, the aisles leading from the dining area to the buffet are a little tight space wise.
I would highly recommend you and your family try Disney’s Crystal Palace on your next vacation.
