Road trips are part of our family travel routine. We drive to Florida every summer, and for us that is 16 hours at least in the car. We’ve driven to Niagara Falls, as well as the beach, and this year we are going to Hilton Head for vacation. So that means another family road trip! One thing I love about road trips is that our children are great road travelers. They have only flown a handful of times, so getting in the car for vacation is now part of the adventure. They don’t complain about driving and they know it means some fun extra activities and snacks that they may not get if we stayed at home. But, surviving a road trip with your children may take some work on your part. So today, I want to share 10 Tips to Surviving a Road Trip with Your Children.
For this month’s Silhouette Challenge, our theme is MY FAVORITE THINGS! And, if you’ve been around the blog long enough-you know that my Silhouette Cameo is one of my FAVORITE things EVER! My husband always says it was the best $200 he’s ever spent on me :). My favorite aspect of having a Cameo is that I feel like I can create ANYTHING! I absolutely love the versatility of this machine. And this month, my fellow bloggers and I have our Favorite Things for you!
When I was chosen to attend the Disney Social Media Moms on the Road in Philadelphia, I didn’t know I was in for such a dose of Disney magic and pixie dust! Was it worth the 8 hour drive, both ways? Absolutely! But I didn’t drive that far only for a Mickey shaped Rice Krispie treat. I wanted to learn how to grow my blog, and of course learning from the best in business-Disney-was a must! Not only did I learn a ton, but it also reinforced my passion for selling Disney travel. I have always loved Disney, Disney travel, and the memories associated with Disney. And now, seeing it from a mom, blogger, AND travel agent perspective, I love it even more!
Keeping your children safe on the beach is something all families think about at one time or another. A family beach vacation is a “must” for so many families. We will be embarking on our fourth family beach vacation this sumer, and one thing at the front of my “mommy mind” is keeping our children safe at the beach. Last summer, we enjoyed Surfside Beach, SC on our way home from Walt Disney World. This year, we are making our way to Hilton Head Island, SC. Have you been? My favorite part of beach trips is our “schedule”. Our beach trip schedule is as follows:
My husband and I just returned from our first “no kids” trip to Walt Disney World. It.was.so.fun!!!! It was a different kind of fun-we love Disney with our kids-but this was a hand holding, no stroller pushing, eat where we want when we want, and ride Dumbo together kind of fun! While I’m hanging out with the Disney Social Media Moms on the Road in Philadelphia, I’m going to share how my husband and I Rocked Our Disney Side!
It’s beach season here in our house! We are trading in our annual Walt Disney World trip this summer for a trip to Hilton Head Island with my in laws-yes, my in laws. I have the BEST in laws on earth, and I’m so looking forward to a trip to the beach with them-and making those “vacations with grandparents” memories for our children. Can’t wait! So on a summer afternoon, I created this Seashell Wreath with easy supplies I had on hand.
Do you need an extra $20 to spend at Disney? Or the Disney store to bring some magic home? Do you have a Pin Collector in your house? I do! Actually, I have two of them. Hi all! Rachel from Architecture of a Mom here with another frugal decor idea! And once again, I’m continuing to work on my letter wall, and I have to say that I’m most excited about this letter. I’m completely in love with the indigo color, and this is a great and subtle way to add pattern to anything–and it’s super simple! Here’s what you need:
Packing for Walt Disney World is an ongoing event in our house. About 6 weeks before we leave, I start “soft packing”. I start picking up items at the store, make a rough list of items I don’t want to forget, and start setting it all aside in the designated corner of our bedroom. And let’s face it, it allows me to make lists. I don’t think I could survive without a list, and a packing list for Disney is one of my FAVORITE ones to make! So let me share with you the Ten Things I’m Always Glad I Pack for Disney World.
