Our Saturdays are often spent on the soccer field. Most weekends, it is an hour on a Saturday afternoon, enjoying the sun and watching our oldest play a game. Now that the season is coming to a close, we are in the midst of soccer tournaments. This means more hours on the soccer field, more prep for me the night before, and I feel like I need to have more options to keep him hydrated and fed between games.
As much as I love Disney food, I decided that each month in 2015, I’m going to share a Disney Parks inspired food! Our family has visited Walt Disney World so many times, and in turn we’ve enjoyed much of the best food on Disney property! One of my husband’s FAVORITE treats is found throughout the Disney parks, but he always manages to snag these Cinnamon Coated Almonds while we are shopping at Downtown Disney.
Do you ever have a grand idea for a recipe, and it just goes out the window? If not, you’re lucky. That is sort of what happened when I saw these Double Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Pretzels on Pinterest. Aren’t they impressive? I was SO excited to make them for our Ladies Bible Study Cookie Exchange Party. Appearing super easy, and having most of the ingredients on hand, I went out and picked up some sourdough pretzels. As soon as I opened the box, I knew it was all over. There was only ONE whole pretzel in the whole box~the rest were broken into pieces. Ugh! I knew it wasn’t going to work, and I wasn’t about to go buy every box of pretzels in hopes of salvaging enough to pull this recipe off. Plan B it was.
Popcorn is my absolute FAVORITE snack! I love to make it in different ways, like Cinnabun Popcorn, Peanut Butter Popcorn with Chocolate Drizzle, and classic with salt and melted butter. For Christmas, though, I love to whip up this easy Peppermint Stick White Chocolate Popcorn. It’s a nice alternative to cookies for cookie exchanges, and since it makes a lot of popcorn, you can bag it up to give as an easy, inexpensive homemade gift. Combining peppermint, with my favorite snack of popcorn….and of course some white chocolate, you’ll have an easy and fun snack for Christmas!
We love a good beer bread in our house. I make it a lot in the winter time, when my husband likes to have it accompanying his chili. It is SO easy, and while there are a lot of boxed mixes for Beer Bread out there, I prefer the homemade version. I like it because I always have the ingredients on hand, and I know exactly what is going into it.
