Chocolatey Christmas Trees

Dollar Tree Christmas

“I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Dollar Tree and Blueprint Social. The original ideas and opinions in this post are my own.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  As soon as Thanksgiving is over, our house and our focus shifts right to Christmas.  I put the finishing touches on our Christmas countdown, find a good hiding spot for the gifts, and get creative in the kitchen!  But with all of this excitement and novelty of the Christmas season, I need to remind myself that simple is also impressive~even when it comes to food.

Have you seen those super cute vinyled ornaments on Pinterest?  I am sure you have~particularly if you are the proud owner of a Silhouette Cameo machine like I am!  I had seen some pop up in my Pinterest feed, and I wondered if it was really as easy as cutting some vinyl and putting it on a glass ornament.

I have two sweet boys who are all of a sudden 11!  I can’t believe that in February, these sweet boys will be turning the corner toward their teenage years!  Or, maybe I can’t believe that I am old enough to have 11 year olds!  Every year, I am on the quest to find cool Christmas gifts for them.  You know, something super awesome that they’ll love and treasure for years to come~and maybe even last long enough to give it to their kids.  While they still want toys, I’m happy to oblige~before they turn toward wanting super expensive electronics.  One of the cool Christmas gifts I’m gifting them this year is a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. DIY Christmas gifts are starting to be my “go to” for the upcoming season.  Instead of thinking, “Where can I buy one of those?”, my thoughts turn to “I wonder what I could make for so and so’s gift?”  With our boys rotating amongst teachers during their school day {no more self-contained classrooms}, that is 4 teachers I want to treat to a fun Christmas gift, not just one teacher anymore!

Princess Jewelry Hook

Princess Jewelry Hook #princessroom #littlegirldecor #silhouetteamerica

Princess….I think that should be Natalie’s middle name.  I mean, really.  She has two older brothers, she is the only girl we have, and she loves anything and everything sparkly and shiny and girly.  I personally wouldn’t have it any other way!  So, for her birthday, we did a little room makeover.  We wanted it to be “princessy”, but not Disney princess.  You should all know by now that around the Hurst house, we love us some Disney travel, movies, music, and magic.  BUT, believe it or not, our house is not-nor will ever be-“Disney-fied”.  Including the kids’ rooms.    So, playing with the princess theme, I created this Princess Jewelry Hook so Princess Natalie can have her jewels within easy reach and they won’t get tangled in her jewelry box.

Personalized Baby Name Tile

BabyNameTile

I’m all about personalized gifts.  Whether it’s with a monogram or the name of the recipient, I love adding that personal touch.  And that means I usually get to use my Silhouette Cameo :).  So, when my sister had my sweet little niece, I knew that for a shower gift, I’d be making he something personal, and something that will remind her of how much God loves her. Piggybacking on my Family Tile, I came up with this Baby Name Tile for her.  It’s so unique, fairly easy, and personal.
