FROZEN Party Table Decorations

FROZEN Party Table Decorations

Surprise!  Our daughter chose a FROZEN theme for her party this year.  I know, not surprising, right?  Doesn’t every single 5 year old girl in America choose FROZEN for her party theme this  year?  I’m guessing a lot of my fellow moms of princesses have been pinning and scouring the internet for FROZEN party ideas!  Ladies, you are not alone!  I pinned, searched, thought, and finally put some ideas together for Natalie’s FROZEN birthday party!  I like to theme our children’s parties, but not heavily them them, you know?  I can easily go to Party City and buy the whole theme birthday kit, but I like to go with a color scheme and then supplement with party supplies that feature the character of choice.   This year silvers, whites, and blues were our scheme, and these super cute table decorations were born!

DIY Halloween Treat Bowl

DIY Treat Bowl #modpodge

I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Mod Podge and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.

I love it when Mod Podge goodies show up on my door step-particularly those I get to craft with!  As soon as I saw my Mod Podge box of fun arrive, I knew I was going to embellish a plain bowl for our Halloween Treats this year.  I tend to keep the Halloween decor on the down low for two reasons.  One, Natalie’s birthday is the week before so I am usually in “crafty party overload” for whatever her theme is {this year was FROZEN….surprise, surprise}.  Two, if I put up a generic fall wreath and decorate the mantel with fall colors and pumpkins, that gets me all the way through to Christmas :).  Win win!    But, these fun goodies from Mod Podge put me into the Halloween crafting mood, and the DIY Halloween Treat Bowl was created.

10 Tips for Using Heat Transfer Vinyl with a Silhouette Cameo #silhouetteamerica #heattransfervinylprojects

Using heat transfer vinyl with your Silhouette Cameo doesn’t have to be intimidating!  Let me tell you.  I have made seriously about 75 shirts since January using my Silhouette and heat transfer vinyl.  That doesn’t exactly make me an expert, but I have some ideas to share with you.  Not only do I make them for my daughter to wear for almost every holiday, or just for fun, but I also make them for every child I have traveling to Walt Disney World or on a Disney Cruise this year.  I thought I would turn my machine and my love for using it into a fun incentive for my guests!   Using heat transfer vinyl to create custom shirts is easy-and the results are awesome!  It’s nice to know that in under 30 minutes I can whip up a fun birthday shirt for my nieces or nephew, a cute Halloween shirt for my daughter to wear to school, or even fun Disney shirts for our family trip!  So, today I want to share 10 Tips  for Using Heat Transfer Vinyl with Your Silhouette Cameo!

Are you into the back to school routine?  We are working our way there!  I love being home with the kiddos in the summer, but now that I work from home, it’s nice to have the house to myself for a few hours each day.  Since we have fallen into the school routine, I thought it was time to fall into a simple chore routine.  In our house, the one thing the boys fight over is who is loading and unloading the dishwasher.  I mean it really can’t be easier.  We use Finish Tabs, so there’s no mess and whoever gets to unload opens a very clean dishwasher with sparkling dishes every time   Alas, there is always fighting over who “does the dishes”.  So, I started a small chore list, with meal time responsibilities.  Today, I want to share my Easy Family Chore List & Command Center and I hope you’ll avoid some responsibility conflict with your kiddos!

Fall Pallet Mantel Sign {Grateful, Thankful, Blessed}

Grateful Square Photo

It’s that time of year!  Yay!  It’s time to get out the fall decor and start showering our homes with fall colors and pumpkins!  Yay!  I am so excited.  I love fall.  I love decorating for fall, especially my mantle.  It not only gives me a reason to do some crafting, but it just gives our home a more “cozy” feel to it.  As part of my fall mantle {which I’ll be sharing more of that in future posts}, I created a Fall Pallet Wood Sign, to add some simple color and dimension to our mantle. Princess Jewelry Hook

Princess Jewelry Hook #princessroom #littlegirldecor #silhouetteamerica

Princess….I think that should be Natalie’s middle name.  I mean, really.  She has two older brothers, she is the only girl we have, and she loves anything and everything sparkly and shiny and girly.  I personally wouldn’t have it any other way!  So, for her birthday, we did a little room makeover.  We wanted it to be “princessy”, but not Disney princess.  You should all know by now that around the Hurst house, we love us some Disney travel, movies, music, and magic.  BUT, believe it or not, our house is not-nor will ever be-“Disney-fied”.  Including the kids’ rooms.    So, playing with the princess theme, I created this Princess Jewelry Hook so Princess Natalie can have her jewels within easy reach and they won’t get tangled in her jewelry box.
