I have two sweet boys who are all of a sudden 11!  I can’t believe that in February, these sweet boys will be turning the corner toward their teenage years!  Or, maybe I can’t believe that I am old enough to have 11 year olds!  Every year, I am on the quest to find cool Christmas gifts for them.  You know, something super awesome that they’ll love and treasure for years to come~and maybe even last long enough to give it to their kids.  While they still want toys, I’m happy to oblige~before they turn toward wanting super expensive electronics.  One of the cool Christmas gifts I’m gifting them this year is a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun. One of my favorite holiday get togethers of the year is our ladies Bible study cookie swap.  Seven or eight of my close friends and I get together to exchange cookies, enjoy great food together, and just enjoy each other’s company before the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season sets in.  And when we are together, there is always some sort of fun, fruity, “frou frou” drink on the table!

DIY Christmas gifts are starting to be my “go to” for the upcoming season.  Instead of thinking, “Where can I buy one of those?”, my thoughts turn to “I wonder what I could make for so and so’s gift?”  With our boys rotating amongst teachers during their school day {no more self-contained classrooms}, that is 4 teachers I want to treat to a fun Christmas gift, not just one teacher anymore!

Homemade Ribbon Ruffle Ornament

Handmade Ribbon Ruffle Ornament #christmas #handmadeornament #christmascrafts

Homemade ornaments don’t just have to be yarn and popsicle sticks. Nor, do you need a lot of time to make one. With a few supplies from JoAnn’s, I was able to craft this pretty ornament in about half an hour on Sunday afternoon. I modeled it after the ribbon topiary I made for Natalie’s birthday cake table, and the Ribbon Ruffled Pumpkins I made for our fall decor.

Shiny Snowflake Christmas Wreath

I must REALLY be in the snowflake mood this Christmas as far as decor is concerned.  I decided I wanted to keep my Christmas wreath easy, inexpensive, and fun all at the same time this year.  I took a quick trip to the Dollar Tree, and I came home with a box of shiny snowflakes, and some bright red garland.  I knew my wreath would be done in just under an hour, and ready to hang on the door for our Christmas decor.
