Back to School Teacher Gifts {Body Scrubs and Candy Jars}

Last school year, Matthew and Lucas were in two separate classrooms.  That meant that I could give each of their teachers the same back to school gift :) .  I gave them these beauties, etched by my super awesome brother in law.......

This year, they're back in the same room, which meant we needed to come up with two different back to school gifts.  My original plan was a Starbucks tumbler with Crystal Light packets from Lucas, and BBW hand sanitizer from Matthew.  Well, as the conversation continued, each of my boys decided on their own teacher gifts.  I have to say, I loved seeing their creativity and giving hearts come through on this one.  I actually loved the gifts even more, because I knew they truly came from the boys, and not from me.

Foot and Hand Scrub

Matthew gave some homemade body scrubs.  I was THRILLED when he said, "Mommy, let's give her some of your homemade body scrub.  I think she'll love it."  I was so flattered!  So, at Meijer we found these super cute, rubber sealed glass jars.  Matthew picked a blue, pink, and orange jar.   He suggested we make a foot, hand, and body scrub.  I made a Brown Sugar Body Scrub, Peppermint Foot Scrub, and a Lemon Hand Scrub.  Let me tell you, his teacher was sooooo excited to get these.  It was super fun and cute moment to see Matthew give his teacher some back to school joy.

While we were picking out the jars for scrub, Lucas spied a huge jar in the same aisle.  He decided to fill it with candies.  So, we grabbed the jar, and picked up some Dum Dums, Nerds, and Jolly Ranchers.  I affixed a vinyl label to the front, added some scrapbook stickers, and hot glued a grosgrain ribbon around the center to finish it off.  We filled it with candy and it was good!

I had each of my boys write a letter to their teacher, and Matthew ended up drawing because writing isn't his "thing".  In the end, they were so proud and excited to give their teacher their own gifts from their own hearts.

Did you give your teachers back to school gifts?  There are some very awesome ideas out there!
